Sourdough Discard Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients
4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup sourdough discard
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter melted
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
Filling
1/2 cup butter softened or melted
1 cup coconut sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
Frosting
8 oz cream cheese
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup honey and/or maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375. Combine dry ingredients in a big bowl. Then add wet ingredients, combine. Knead with your hands until you have a dough ball. On a lightly flour surface, roll out the dough so its in a shape of a rectangle and 1/4 inch thick. Combine all filling ingredients, then spread them evenly on the dough. Starting on the long side of the dough, start rolling the dough. Once all rolled, cut into 12 pieces. Place all rolls in a greased pan or skillet leaving a little room in between each. Bake for 25-35 min or until slightly brown on top. Combine all frosting ingredients. Spread on top when the rolls have cooled.
